Emily Martin - Co-president
Emily is a third year Genetics and Molecular Biology major with a minor in Brain and Cognition at the University of Guelph. She is passionate about neuroscience which inspired her to help create a community for students who share a similar interest. Emily’s academic interests include genetic diseases, specifically in paediatrics. Melissa Tigert - Head Events Co-ordinator / Secretary
Melissa is going into her third year in Psychology: Brain and Cognition. She is very excited to be part of Brainstorm and can't wait to get some neuroscience events going for everyone at Guelph! Paul Sheppard - Communications
Paul is a current PhD student in behavioural neuroscience at the University of Guelph. His research focuses on the rapid effects of estrogens on social memory and learning tasks and the mechanisms by which they occur. He has 4 cats, a long-list of unplayed podcast episodes to get to, and a thirst for good beer and good music. Jenna Ashley - Internal Events (Dinner with a Prof/Trivia)
Jenna is in her third year of undergrad majoring in Bio-Medical Science and minoring in Neuroscience. She is interested in studying Neurological disorders. She is excited to be part of a club that brings those interested in neuroscience together. |
Cameron Wasson - Co-president
Cameron is a second year MSc in the Psychology: Neuroscience & Applied Cognitive Science and the Collaborative Neuroscience Program at the University of Guelph. He is excited to create a community that will foster collaboration between the neurosciences at Guelph. Cameron will be attending McGill starting in 2017 to pursue his PhD in Neuroscience. Theresa Martin - Internal Events (Journal Club)
Theresa is currently working on completing a Masters of Science - double majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Guelph. Her Masters Thesis is on the topic of the rapid effects of estrogen on learning and memory, for which the methodology is currently being developed. Theresa has a personal challenge of making at least one-person deep belly laugh per day, plays the ukulele, and performs improv comedy downtown sometimes. Richard Matta - Outreach Co-ordinator
Richard is a 3rd year PhD candidate in behavioral neuroscience studying the role of the mesolimbic dopamine system on social learning in male and female mice. He is interested promoting neuroscience to the broader community. Anthony Giuga - External Events
Anthony is in his final year at the University of Guelph graduating with a B.Sc in Psychology: Brain and Cognition and a minor in Neuroscience. He is interested in pursuing the biotechnological applications of neuroscience research such as brain-computer interfaces. |
